The 2020 UK Songwriting Contest is now open for entries. Prizes (including an international Record Deal), judges and song categories are on the new look website at www.songwritingcontest.co.uk

THE SONGWRITING CHALLENGE
This is your chance to write a new melody or new lyric to a very famous song. Our team will put your new lyrics and melodies together to create a complete new song and professionally record it. The first classic song we have chosen to start this songwriting challenge is Yesterday by Paul McCartney. Join the challenge and let us have your alternative Melody and Lyrics for this classic song.

Categories in 2020 include Singer-Songwriter, Unplugged, Pop, AC, Lyrics Only, Blues, RnB, Folk, Teen, Instrumental, Country, Retro and many more. There is a category for everyone and every style of music.

CRISIS SONGS
There is also a new Crisis Songs category that has already quickly become one of the most popular categories this year. Do you have a song about lockdowns, quarantine, social isolation? Or maybe about one of the other major crises in the world that we all face today?

Every song also gets free entry into the Lyricist Of The Year Awards automatically included with their entry (worth $25), there are opportunities for Instrumental composers, and there are prizes and gifts for everyone who takes part, winner or not.
