FOR EVERYONE
Everyone who enters is given a personal Star Rating by the judges for their song and allocated an award position in the event. Everyone is given a gift package of song pitching slots and a selection of SongU songwriting courses worth over US$75, and everyone receives a personalized UKSC Certificate for each song for framing. All song entries, winners or not, are matched to our insider list of song types required by record company and publishing A&Rs and producers and forwarded if they match current requirements. This is unique to the UKSC and it has led to many deals and signings for UKSC entrants. Instrumental and Lyric entries are also included in this process. In addition everyone gets free membership of SubmitMySong.com and free entry into The Commonwealth Song Contest. No other songwriting event gives more to everyone who enters or works harder for songwriters and composers.

As usual the UKSC will be looking for new songwriting talent and all entrants have a genuine chance to be noticed and discovered by top people in the music industry.
 
OVERALL WINNER
The Grand Prize Overall Winner will be featured and showcased online. The winner will be promoted to the UKSC's music industry contacts and partners and music industry insiders. If not yet already officially released the UKSC will provide support and advice regarding official release, distribution and promotion of the winning song. The winner will receive a package of prizes from the music industry sponsors featured on this page (see below), and professional membership of the Guild of International Songwriters & Composers and promotion and media support and advice from the UKSC.

CO-WRITING PRIZE
The multi award winning and highly acclaimed musician and songwriter (and UKSC judge) Rachel Walker Mason will co-write a song with one lucky winner this year. Rachel is an important figure in the UK and International music industries.
She was given the British Citizen Award for outstanding contribution to the arts, she is an Ivors Academy Council member, an Executive Member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a voting member of the GRAMMYs and a mentor, currently working with Grammy and Emmy winners, Billboard Hot 100 Artists and alumni from The Voice UK and American Idol. She was named a Woman Of The Year in 2020 and this is a unique opportunity to work with, and co-write with, one of the most talented, experienced, well connected and respected names in the music business.

CATEGORY WINNERS
The top songwriters in each category receive Winner Certificates and a collection of the valuable prizes. All Category Winners will have their work promoted to the UKSC's music industry contacts. They will be awarded prize packages including professional music tools for selected category winners from both Nembrini Audio and IK Multimedia, songwriter career resources from The Music Registry, a Pro Lifetime Subscription to SongwritersDB, full Membership of The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers (GISC), a Platinum SongU membership, International Copyright Registration for their winning song at the SCO Song Copyright Office, and promotional and career support.

FINALISTS
ALL Finalists will each receive an official UKSC Finalist Certificate for framing for each song, and a package of song pitching opportunities and songwriting courses worth over $75. All finalists are considered for inclusion on the Best of UKSC Album and have their work promoted to our music industry contacts. All Finalists are considered for the winning position in their category and all finalists have their songs and names listed on the UKSC official website. Details of finalist songs are made available to contacts in the industry and selected finalist entries are passed to our A&R and producer contacts for further consideration. UKSC finalists are frequently mentioned in the Guild of International Songwriters and Composer's quarterly Songwriting and Composing magazine as well as in 'Score', the Music Business Registry newsletter and are often featured on BBC Radio. Every year many UKSC finalists receive national and international media coverage including TV and Radio.

SEMI-FINALISTS
All Semi Finalists receive a UKSC Semi Finalist Certificate for framing and a 90 day SongU free trial membership worth over $75. All Semi Finalists are carefully considered for advancement to the Finals stage and a finalist position, and all will receive the judge's Star Rating for their songs. They have the chance to be heard and discovered by top industry professionals and are given the judge's Star Rating for their songs and position reached in the panels.

COMMENDED ENTRIES
The judges will make Commended Entry Awards and Highly Commended Awards to entrants that show a high standard and good level of songwriting. These entrants each receive a UKSC Commended Entry Certificate for framing, song pitching and Songwriting Courses at SongU.com (value of over $75), the chance to be heard and discovered by top industry professionals and will be allocated a star rating by the judges for their work.

SPECIAL MENTIONS
The judges will make Special Mention Awards for selected entrants that show a high level of songwriting. These entrants receive a UKSC Special Mention Certificate for framing, a 90 day SongU subscription (worth over $75) and details of the judge's rating. As with semi finalist they will have the chance to be heard and discovered by top industry professionals and are given the judge's Star Rating for their songs and position reached in the panels.

SONGWRITER AND PARTICIPANT
All songs that do not reach the levels above receive a UKSC Songwriter or Participant Certificate,
a package of  Song Pitching and Songwriting Courses at SongU.com worth over $75, details of the judges Star Ratings and the position reached in the judging panels, the chance to be heard and discovered by top industry professionals and Inclusion in the industry song requirements matching process (see above).
