DEADLINE APPROACHING
The deadline for Session One of the 2015 UK Songwriting Contest is 30th June. All Session One Semi Finalists will be announced in July so the sooner you enter your songs the sooner you will know if you made the Semi Finals. Last year many semi finalists from the first session had excellent career boosting early media coverage that continued all through the second session until the end of the contest. This provided great publicity for a number of songs and writers with the media watching out to see if these songs and writers eventually made it to the finals or became winners.

Entry forms and full details are at the official contest website at http://songwritingcontest.co.uk

THE 2015 STUART EPPS PRIZE
The legendary british producer (and UKSC contest judge) Stuart Epps will work with this year's UK Songwriting Contest winner! Stuart has worked with some of the world's greatest songwriters including Elton John, Oasis, Robbie Williams and George Harrison and this year we are pleased to announce that in 2015 one UKSC entrant will be chosen to work with Stuart as part of the Epps Music Productions stable of songwriters and artists. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work closely with top names in the business and develop your songwrting and industry contacts. Stuart has made a short video talking about the UKSC and about songwriting and he describes how he has learned to spot a good song after working with some of the best in the business. Watch Stuart's video here

OTHER PRIZES
Other prizes this year include THE MOZART AWARDS from the makers of the outstanding Mozart music software, international SCO Song Copyright Registrations, memberships of the Guild of International Sogwriters and Composers, memberships of Broadjam, musical instruments, SongU memberships and more. In addition all winners will be featured on the Best Of UKSC promotional album which is sent to our industry contacts each year and has led to many radio and TV appearances, radio playlistings, international press coverage, deals and contracts, co writing partnerships and singles releases for UKSC entrants.

HOW TO ENTER
Visit the official contest website at www.songwritingcontest.co.uk for the entry forms. Use these simple forms to enter your song in a few easy clicks. All songwriters from any country may enter.

Everyone who enters this respected international event (formed in association with The BRIT Trust) is told the judges score for each song and everyone gets an official UKSC Certificate with details of their achievements and placements. There are also valuable guaranteed gifts and prizes worth many times the entry fee for everyone including song pitching opportunities and songwriting courses. In the words of the UK's Channel 4 Television: "The UK Songwriting Contest does what it says on the tin! This is a real chance for new songwriters to break into the music business". No other contest offers so much or works so hard for the songwriters who enter - and the entry fee has not been raised in 14 years to keep it affordable for all songwriters.

We wish you every success in this year's event and in your future songwriting.

Songwriting Community Group gets lively

Click here to visit the Facebook UKSC Community Group

Some of you may not know this, but there is a very friendly and helpful songwriting group at Facebook that is dedicated to The UK Songwriting Contest. It is a place to interact with the other songwriters who enter the contest, see what they are doing and what they are entering in the event, get feedback on your own songs, ask questions about the contest, collaborate with other songwriters (and maybe find a new co writing partner as many others have done), and generally hang out with a great bunch of people who love songwriting.

The group is starting to get very active again after its usual short quiet spell between contests. So, if you are not a member yet, please come and join us there. You will be made very welcome.

TIP: When you are there don't forget to click on the Notifications setting near the top of the page on the right, and make sure it is turned on to see all the posts in the group from other songwriters.
