Christmas Songs  NEW CATEGORY FOR 2013!
Many, if not most, songwriters have tried writing a Christmas song - even Paul McCartney and John Lennon each had a go. Every songwriter knows that if they are successful these songs can be huge money spinners with repeat sales every year, and they are among the biggest grossing songs in the world. In past years UKSC entrants entered their Christmas songs in various categories such as Open, Christian and others depending on the style of the music. There have been some outstanding entries in past years - for example "Bloody Good Xmas" which won the Acoustic/Folk category in 2010 (and then shot to number two in the Amazon download charts). Now, in 2013, there is a special new UK Songwriting Contest category just for these songs. Details and entry forms are at www.songwritingcontest.co.uk
