SEMI FINALIST
Congratulations! If your song is marked as a Semi Finalist this means your song is now with the Finalist selection panels. It was chosen as one of the top 20 per cent of all entries. Your song is now taking part in higher judging stages and may be selected as a Finalist. If it is selected as a Finalist it may then go on to become a Winner. You will know more towards the end of the contest, and your UKSC Certificates for each entry, will be issued at that time.
COMMENDED ENTRY / HIGHER COMMENDED ENTRY
This year we added new levels of Award to show different standards of entry. Commended Entry Awards have been split into two types - Commended Entry and Higher Commended Entry. All songs with a score of five and six were considered for these awards. (Songs with a score lower than five receive a Participant Certificate as before).
SPECIAL MENTION AWARD
This new award is reserved for outstanding entrants who received a borderline score that placed them very close to being chosen as a Semi Finalist. If you received a Special Mention Award this means your song received a judges score of 6.5 and it was very carefully considered by the Semi Finalist selection judges.
JUDGES' SCORES AND CERTIFICATES
Later in the contest you will be told the exact score that your song received from the judges. There is an explanation of the scoring system and what your score means here. Certificates for each song, showing the position reached in the event, will be issued at the end of the contest.
