The Jazz / Blues Category
All jazz and blues styles from jazz ballads to classic 12 bars, traditional, experimental and modern are welcome in this category. This could also be a suitable category for contemporary jazz based easy listening styles, or heavily jazz influenced bands (eg Steely Dan). Instrumental jazz or blues compositions may also be entered in this category. Past winners have included sophisticated jazz, experimental, raw blues, trad, latin influenced and more. We are constantly surprised and impressed by the variety of entries in this category.

I Ain't Got No Love Left by Australian songwriter Bryony Morgan was winner of the Jazz/Blues Category in 2010. UKSC judge, top producer and musical director Richard Niles described it as the year's "most original entry with a lot of well executed dynamic changes. Beginning as an old '30s blues, its shifts gears to a great rock/blues riff and an emotive song... shifting gears at the end to return to the solo voice, this is a compelling entry".
