The Judges Judges include top music industry names such as producer Stuart Epps (well known for his work with Elton John, Robbie Williams, Led Zeppelin, Bill Wyman, Paul Weller, George Harrison, Oasis), BRIT Award winning producer, songwriter and musical director Simon Ellis (S Club 7, Britney Spears), CMA Award winning international country star and songwriter Lucie Diamond, and producer, musical director and arranger Richard Niles (Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Boy Zone, Mariah Carey, Take That, Cliff Richard). Judging panels also include industry executives, publishers, managers, music organisations, experienced songwriters, past UKSC winners, UKSC directors, broadcasters, music journalists, authors and others from the UK music industry. NEWS UPDATES... 2011 Acoustic Category Winner - Bloody Good Xmas by Jamie Hawkins - became a cult favorite and had such strong support on Facebook after the contest results were announced that it was re-recorded and released as a Christmas Single. It reached #2 in the Amazon Best Selling Download charts within hours of its release - watch at YouTube or visit the Bloody Good Xmas website..... The 2011 Pop Category and Overall Winning Song - What Love Is by Ken Brown - was treated to a stunning re mix by the celebrated top producer and contest judge Stuart Epps at his state of the art studios - Stuart was one of the many UKSC judges that was very impressed by this entry - listen to Stuart's remix.... The Rock Category Winner - Danger Deep Water by Jason Flinter et al - was chosen to open and launch LABEL EXPO, the major awards show in Brussels, soon after results were announced.... The 2011 Olympic Category Winner - When You Ride A Dream by Conan and Muni - was noticed by the Founding President of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Mel Shaw. Mel is a Juno Award winning multiple Gold Album producer and he is now creating a video of the track to promote the song in 2012 in association with the UKSC.... return soon for more news updates from recent months... 2012 - Something For Everyone Every songwriter this year will be given the judges score for each song and will receive an official UKSC Certificate for every song entered with details of achievements and placements. Plus, there are guaranteed prizes for everyone including valuable songwriting courses, Broadjam memberships and more, as well as the main prizes. Many past entrants have received royalty earning radio play and many more have been featured in the press and on TV or have been signed or produced by top industry figures who closely follow this event looking for new talent.
